  • “We were just as pleased as could be…..To have our own guide who could tell us about the things we were most interested in, to be picked up & dropped off right at our hotel door, to have the itinery tailored to our own pace & interests, to have all admissions taken care of, to enjoy a leisurely lunch – all these things made this tour far superior to a large group tour.”

Stonehenge

Windsor Castle, Stonehenge & Bath – a classic English sightseeing tour.

Starting the day with the splendour and majesty of Windsor Castle, this tour then takes you to the mystical, ancient monument of Stonehenge before ending the day with a visit to the stunning city of Bath. With expert commentary by your own Blue Badge Guide and all entrances included in the price, this is a fascinating and varied tour, a must for visitors to Britain.

Windsor Castle

Windsor CastleThe largest inhabited castle in the world, Windsor dates back to the 11th Century and the time of William the Conqueror. It has now been a home to the Royal Family for over 900 years and remains an official residence of Queen Elizabeth II.

The tour includes a visit to the State Apartments that are still used for many British State occasions and Royal receptions. We'll also take in the stunning castle grounds and visit St George's Chapel, the burial place of many British kings and queens.

Stonehenge

On leaving the castle we'll head for the famous ancient stone circle known as Stonehenge. One of the most prehistoric sites in the world, it is thought to date back to 3100BC. A hugely significant landmark, both archaeologically and spiritually, you'll hear the theories and legend that surround it. Then you'll have to make your own mind up!

Bath

BathThen it's on to the Georgian splendour of Bath. We'll visit the Roman Baths, built around the only naturally occurring thermal springs in Britain. After this you'll be free to explore this beautiful city at your own pace before returning to London in the early evening.

As with all Oakwood Tours we will pick you up from your own hotel and return you there at the end of the day. You will not have to share the tour with any other parties and you will have the dedicated attention of your Blue Badge Guide for the whole day.

“Oakwood Tours’ customer service rates a perfect 10…..could not have been better. Alex & Bill were both wonderful. We did not feel rushed. We learned a lot. We felt very ‘special’ to have our own tour guide…someone to look out for us & help us see the sites efficiently. The tour sites were wonderful. Nothing can prepare a person for seeing Stonehenge in person. Lacock was lovely, the Abbey so beautiful & peaceful….Wonderful experience."
