We'll then head through the West End of London, passing Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Downing Street until we reach Buckingham Palace.
Buckingham Palace & The Changing of the Guard
Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British monarch in London. The Palace is a setting for state occasions and royal entertaining and a major tourist attraction. We'll gather outside this magnificent building to watch the famous Changing of the Guard ceremony where a detatchment of the Queen's Foot Guard, in their traditional bearskins and red tunics, march to the palace to change with the Old Guard.
Thames River Cruise
After breaking for lunch, we'll embark on a relaxing cruise along the Thames, from Westminster to the Tower of London. The views from the river of famous landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, the Globe Theatre, the London Eye and St Paul's Cathedral are stunning.
The Tower of London
Dating back to the rule of William the Conqueror in the 11th century, The Tower of London has been a mint, an armoury, a royal palace and even a zoo. However it is most famous as a prison and execution site, as well as the home of the priceless Crown Jewels. We'll tour the Tower and view the Jewels, including the remarkable Koh-i-Noor diamond. You'll then have some free time to explore this fascinating piece of British history on your own.
The City of London
Often known as The Square Mile, due to its size, the City is the historic core of London, from which, along with Westminster, the modern conurbation grew. We'll take a guided drive around the Square Mile, where you learn its fascinating history including the Great Fire of 1666, St Pauls Cathedral and the Bank of England.
The London Eye
The world's tallest observation wheel at 135m high, the London Eye offers unrivalled views of London, and we'll have a completely different perspective on the sites we visited earlier in the tour. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes and will be the perfect end to a memorable day discovering the key tourist sites of London.
